Show Report 1998 - 3 Famous Trikes

The Global Flyer
The Global Flyer was beside the Pegasus stand, but appeared to be a separate exhibit. This is a very special aircraft, and the best bit of publicity Pegasus have ever had. Brian Milton was there signing books - you can read my review elsewhere on this site. No sign of Keith Reynolds, which was a pity - it would have been nice to see him and Brian back together at the show, but maybe this just isn't going to happen.
Mainair had Colin Bodill's Blade, "Spirit of Diana", on their stand, the one he flew to Sydney in 49 days. This must have cheered Mainair up a bit - otherwise the stand was very gloomy, with lots of pictures of the fire. There is no doubt it will take them some time to recover from the effects of the fire, in which a lot of valuable equipment was destroyed.
Rory Jeffe's Quantum
Also in the general vicinity of the Pegasus stand was Rory Jeffe's Quantum which featured in the "Wrong Way to Farnborough" flight. Rory and his improbably named brother in law, Storm Smith, flew from Bangalore in India to Farnborough in England in a pair of Quantums, raising money for charity on the way. They covered 6250 miles in 39 days, visiting 12 countries.
