Just spoke to Dave on the telephone - another early morning start. He's assured me that the full story of the last few weeks is on its way shortly, including the bit about him being threatened with arrest in Texas . . .

Dave has also told me that the Americans do not have the same sense of humour as us Brits, and that some of them were appalled by a letter pubished yesterday which seemed to be critical of their hero. The offending item has now been removed, but I would like to assure anyone who read it that it was not intended seriously - as I know our British audience realised.
