Dave was the first person ever to own a Blade. This was a 582, but he is now the proud owner of a Blade 912, the flagship of the Mainair range of trikes. The aircraft has been fitted with every conceivable instrument including Skymap, and the dash now looks more like the cockpit of a small airliner than a trike. Dave can be seen coming several miles away not only by the twin wing-mounted alternatively flashing strobes, but also by the landing light fitted in the nose of the pod.
Dave has clocked up many flying hours all over Britain and Europe, flying the "Round Britain" three times . He has flown in various European countries, crossing the English Channel many times. Last year ('98) he spent two weeks flying around the French Alps, and this year (99) around the vineyards of Burgundy. Dave and six other Ince Blundell stalwarts also flew from Ince to Riberac in the south of France, a distance of 1500 miles round trip.
