Dave is hoping to raise money for Cancer Research. Any money raised will go to Clatterbridge Hospital Cancer Research Trust who are specialising in the genetic link with cancer, and are attempting to raise £I million per year. The work involves Gene Replacement, Gene Knockout [preventing an altered gene from being used] Gene Protection [adding genes] and Gene Chemotherapy. They are targeting breast, gynaecological and brain cancers, but the technology is relevant to all cancers.

Dave is looking for commercial sponsorship to help with the cost of shipping, fuel etc, and many firms have already ben very generous to the project - SEE BELOW.

Dave is looking for people to sponsor him on a 'per mile' basis, all such money to go to Clatterbridge Hospital Cancer Research Trust as detailed above. A suggested sponsorship rate is £1 per one thousand miles, which would mean a total donation of £10 if Dave completes the trip. This is only a suggestion, however, and if you would like to pledge more then a penny a mile is another possibility .
