It's a Raven. And it climbs at 1200 feet/minute 2 up (including fat bastard me). Oh, and it's got a clever little hatch thingy on the front of the pod behind which sits the battery and other useful stuff. What more can I say?

    I want one.

Mike Sands (Durham Microlights) had a trial flight, and some of his comments are appended below:

Medway's 912 powered Eclipse. I'm not sure whether Chris Draper has given up on the Jabiru engine, but on the evidence of this machine he should. He just needs the noise test and then he'll be able to sell it to you. This machine . . . is designed to compete at the top end, 20k bracket, and it should do just that. . . . The big thing for me was that I now believe Medway owners' claims that you don't need a trim control. It's eerie - if you want to fly at 50 you just put the bar slightly forward and it stays there, and if you want to fly at 70 you put it slightly further back and it stays there too. How do they do that? . . . Instrumentation was brilliant although why they need TWO fuel gauges I don't know (probably 3 if there's one hidden away in the Flydat as well). . . Downsides: - Seating is as cramped 2-up as the Blade – but the similar back-seat position gives the same excellent view over the pilot's head . . . My dodgy knees gave me real problems bending my legs into the cockpit with owner Rob Keane already in the back seat . . . Odd looking tank – but nowt they can do about that, you'd just have to live with it. For those who don't know, Rob Keane who persuaded Chris to make this 912 engined version is a champion competitor, and he reckons he's going to win a lot of stuff with this machine. I think he was very noble to entrust his baby to my tender embrace even if he was sitting in the back.
